Mr. Yoichiro Yamamoto, Operating Officer - Purchasing, HCIL

Dear Friends & Business Partners,

Thank you your day-to-day support for smooth running of HCIL Operations.

Let me begin by sharing some information about myself.

My name is Yoichiro Yamamoto. in my last role, I was based in Indonesia and was in charge of the Purchasing operation of 4W business. Prior to this role, I have worked for 4 years in other business operations in Indonesia, and before that, I was at Honda Motors Japan.  

I have taken responsibility of HCIL Purchasing from 31st March onwards and today I am happy and excited to meet you in person.

I was informed about the Honda Car India Supplier club concept last week. I think this is unique initiative being followed in India focusing on know-how and skill development of Supplier associates.

I understand that supplier club was started 25 years ago and even today this team has same level of enthusiasm and desire to add value to our supplier community. I sincerely appreciate efforts made by Supplier club executive team and all the coordinators

I am looking forward to this activity and I will try my best to contribute towards growth and development of our supplier partners. Please continue this momentum and as HCIL we will continue to support wherever it is required.

Coming to business area and current situation, As you already know, Last few years have been tough and challenging for the world mainly because of market dynamics, Geo pollical wars and rapidly Changing customer preferences. Automobile business has been impacted including Honda.

HCIL situation is also very tough , resulting in volume drop and frequent production plan changes. I understand and acknowledge that this situation is not good and it has impacted our Supplier partners. I would really like to express my gratitude and appreciate your support towards adjusting to our current situation.   

As a long-term counter measure, HCIL is working closely with Honda Motors for a growth plan for India including a strong model lineup in future. More information regarding this will be shared with our business partners soon.

In any case, we have to work very closely with our supplier partners for enhancing our efficiency both in regular operations and strategic viewpoints. Therefore, we need your continuous support and cooperation.

Coming back to supplier club, I want to use this platform for more enriched learning, capability development and knowledge sharing for our supplier associates.

As we progress further, I am hopeful that our operation in India will continue to grow and contribute more effectively to the needs of our customers.
